Volunteer opportunity description

At the end of any given day there is nothing more comforting than the feeling of getting home to a warm shower, a nice dinner and a peaceful place to recharge and regain the energy needed for the next day.

For many families with a critically sick child in hospital, far away from home, the logistics of such basic needs can become an additional burden. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free " home away from home" accommodation at 14 specialist children's hospitals across the UK so that families can remain united and close to their seriously ill child.

In our Camberwell House, four Georgian houses merged into one, there is always something that needs cleaning, fixing or doing but most importantly our aim is to create a homely and welcoming environment where our families can find some relief and a friendly face after a difficult day at the hospital.

We need regular weekly volunteers!

We are currently looking for some regular weekly volunteers and a small pool of ad hoc volunteers that can be called upon when required. If you have a few hours to spare, some skills that you would like to share, and help make what is s traumatic time more bearable for our families, I would be delighted to hear from you and discuss how you could help.
