Volunteer opportunity description

The Hidden River Festival which takes place on Saturday the 15th September. The day’s events include live music, stand-up comedy, arts and crafts workshops and canoeing down the New River winding along landscaped paths and a modern kids' playground.

Here are the shifts and times when we would like to have volunteers come and help:

  • Saturday the 15th September 9am – 2pm
  • Saturday the 15th September 2pm – 7pm
  • Saturday the 15th September 10:30am – 2:30pm
  • Saturday the 15th September 2:30pm – 6:30pm

Please arrive 15 mins before your shift so we can brief you on what to expect by a Volunteer Coordinator.

 

Morning Festival Steward / Set up / 9am – 2pm Shift x 18

This role is to help with the setup of the festival and to support either stall holders, food suppliers or performers throughout your shift. This role also entails maintenance of the area you will be helping to man, whilst helping to guide participates in the right direction around the festival.

 

Afternoon Festival Steward / Clear Down / 2pm – 7pm x 18

This role is to support either stall holders, food suppliers or performers till the end of the festival. This role also entails maintenance of the area you will be helping to man (litter picking, etc.) whilst helping to guide participates in the right direction around the festival. You will also be on hand from 6pm – 7pm to clear down the festival.

 

Morning Main Steward / Surveys / 10:30am – 2:30pm x 2

This role is to help set up the main hall and to support facilitators using the hall for the festival, this role also entails taking surveys from participates about the festival.

 

Afternoon Main Steward / Surveys / 2:30pm - 6:30pm x 2

This role is support facilitators using the main hall for the festival, this role also entails taking surveys from participates about the festival. You will also be needed to help clear down the hall after the festival has finished.

Time commitment:

  • 6 hrs or 4hrs Depending on role

Out of pocket expenses – travel and refreshments:

  • Expenses/travel reimbursed against receipts.
  • Volunteers will be provided with Free refreshments and lunch.
