Volunteer opportunity description

Sufra NW London is a local charity established in 2013 to address both the causes and consequences of impoverishment in the community. Based on St. Raphael’s Estate, Brent’s most disadvantaged neighbourhood, our Community Hub provides a life-line for people in crisis – including families living in extreme poverty and people who are vulnerable, homeless and socially isolated.

You will be trained in all aspects of traditional crepe making and running a professional food stall. And you will be working with other volunteers, so there will be lots of opportunity to meet new people and have fun – and eat as many crepes as you like :)

For now, our menu is simple: we offer Italian, Greek and Spicy Mexican crepes, and lots of sweet crepes too. But over the next few weeks we will be introducing a new gourmet menu, with Bombay Crepes, Cornish Crepes, Pizza Pancakes, Banana Choc-Chip Crepes and more… We’ll also be offering a traditional buckwheat flour crepe option, which is egg, gluten and dairy free.

You’ll need to be available for one (or both) of the shifts below, and we would kindly request a minimum commitment of three months every week or 6 months every fortnight.

Every Wednesday at the food market:

  • Shift 1: 9.30am – 1pm
  • Shift 2: 12.30pm – 4pm

For the moment we are unable to reimburse volunteer expenses.

But.... eat as many crepes as you like.

And if you are interested in making and prepping the pancakes then take a look at our other volunteering role here:
