Volunteer opportunity description

Every evening, we will fill the Tower moat with light and sound, making it once again one of the focal points of national remembrance.  For this installation we will light thousands of torches in the moat from 5 pm each night, and the soundscape will unfold at the same time.

With thousands of individual flames set in the moat, our volunteers will have the crucial role of replacing each burnt-out torch with a fresh torch every morning to prepare it for being lit, before the evening’s event begins.

This opportunity is great for community or corporate groups as the volunteers are able to move in smaller groups, and the more people the shorter the time slot becomes.

Refreshments and a full health and safety briefing will be provided.

With a limited run time of just 9 days for this event, there will be huge demand for volunteering experiences and we won’t be able to fulfil them all. This is a remarkable experience to play a part in the history of London.

Requirements

This opportunity is available on weekends (Saturday/Sunday 3/4 and Saturday/Sunday 10/11 November) mornings from 10 am – 1 pm.  Please note all weekdays are now full.
