Volunteer opportunity description

About us:

The Kids Network is connecting London for change. We support children aged 8-11 by supporting their social and emotional development by matching them with a volunteer mentor in their local community. 

About the role:

  • Managing all our social channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (minimum of 5 posts a week)
  • Develop and implement TKN social media strategy for 2019
  • Work closely with the TKN team to create content
  • Support campaigns to increase fundraising income and volunteer mentor recruitment 
  • Attend ad hoc events to capture content
  • Create bespoke content such as blogs, vlogs or videos to engage audience
  • Build our following by sharing interesting and relevant content from our communities

About you (the desirables):

The most important thing we are looking for is a commitment to the charity.

  • Experience in managing company social media accounts
  • Good understanding of tone of voice and audience
  • Strong written abilities
  • History of working with Lightful/Hootsuite/Crowdfire etc
  • Ability to be proactive and reactive
  • Track record of strong audience engagement and following
  • An interest in the charity sector 



This is a really exciting role for someone that is interested in learning more about the charity sector and keen to expand on their writing and marketing skills for a good cause. 

  • Can commit to one half day a week in our Camden office
  • Confident with digital communication
  • Willing to attend occasional events


The Kids Network is committed to giving you the best volunteering experience as possible. A full induction will be provided at the start of the role and ongoing support along the way. 

No DBS checks will be required as you will not be working directly with children and their data.

We can offer travel expenses reimbursement for this role.
