Description & History

We’re creating a regional park along the River Wandle in South West London, stretching from Croydon and Sutton through Merton and Wandsworth to the Thames.

Our exceptional network of green spaces rich in history will help people to escape the pressures of city life, get closer to nature, and to be more active.

The park will create a high-quality environment that will help bring jobs, growth and prosperity to the Wandle Valley

The legal paperwork for the Trust is based on the following charitable objects:

  • Conserving and improving the natural heritage

  • Conserving and improving the built heritage

  • Providing recreational facilities

  • Reducing unemployment

  • General power to undertake other charitable work

The objects aim to have a direct impact within the proposed Regional Park but also the surrounding residential catchment area, which is within one mile (1.6km) from the boundary of the Regional Park.
